Welcome

Welcome to my little spot on the world wide web, a place that I hope to let you into my world behind the lens. I have fallen head over heels in love with photography. I see it everywhere I go. My mind is always swirling and taking notes. It has become part of who I am. I want to make time stop through my images. Capture the things we just might otherwise forget.

Golfin'

Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year! There are many reasons for this, but one of the biggest is the weather. Things right now are still green and the temperatures are just about perfect. This weekend couldn't have been a better weekend to be outside. Derek is the only golfer in our family so we don't do many golf outings. When we do, I ask myself why we don't more often. I am sure Derek could tell you why, but we girls had a blast tagging along. The girls have their own set of clubs and enjoy trying out some golf with dad. Me, I prefer to take my camera and try to catch some of the action.

Harper was all over the place!
Hang on Josie!
This was hilarious and I am so glad that I caught it...true reaction from a 4 year old sinking her putt!

Some like to dance and goof a little more than golf.
Loved this one of Emme's shoes, would have liked to stayed and tried for more but no one, including Derek, would hold still long enough!

Girly fun

I had the chance this summer to go over to one of my very best friends house and follow her little girls around. Erin and I met playing basketball together in the 6th grade. We spent many more years together playing sports and being goofy teenagers. Funny, now we both have been blessed with 3 girls very similar in ages. I don't even want to think about the re-payment for our youth we will be dealt in the years to come.
Erin's youngest had just turned one so we took the opportunity to take some pictures. We managed to get some real good pictures filled with personality and not to mention their stunning blue eyes!!! So warning...picture overload here! We took so many there were tons of good ones!

What you can't tell in these pictures is the drama that took place in between settings. We stopped to eat lunch and take a break for the girls to change into some fun dress-up clothes and little Lily took a tumble down an entire flight of stairs landing on a tile floor. I had brought two of my girls along (not a normal session) and they, not knowing the rules of the house, went to play in the basement and didn't shut the door behind them. Amazingly Lily was totally fine. No doubt she had an angel with her that day, it could have been bad! We took a longer break to make sure everything was fine then went ahead and took more pictures. I am so glad that we did because those were most of my favorites for the day!
Erin and her family are the process of moving this weekend so I found it appropriate to post these... hopefully they will able fill the walls of their new home with some!

Here I am

I am finally getting a blog started! I have "talked" about doing this for quite some time, but that doesn't matter, here I am. Just bare with me, all this Html talk makes me dizzy, what? I am very much a "just show me how" kind of girl so it could get interesting!

I wanted to start a blog for a couple of reasons. First for my own personal fun, family adventures and pictures of my kiddos. But most recently for my leap into the world of photography. I have always LOVED taking pictures and would like to believe I have a pretty good eye for it...Back even when we didn't have that instant gratification of digital! I got a new camera a while back and wow, it took me to a whole different world. After some encouragement and compliments I decided I would get out of my comfort zone and dabble in this!

So this first post I am going to stick a couple of my personal favorites out there. I have so many more than this but this is a start! Let me know what you think and if you ever are willing to let me attempt your family...it will be fun I promise!
