Welcome

Welcome to my little spot on the world wide web, a place that I hope to let you into my world behind the lens. I have fallen head over heels in love with photography. I see it everywhere I go. My mind is always swirling and taking notes. It has become part of who I am. I want to make time stop through my images. Capture the things we just might otherwise forget.

I ♥ faces - Dramatic B & W

I haven't entered a photo on I heart faces in awhile, I was due! Plus when I saw the guest judge this week is one of my VERY favorite photographers, Tara Whitney, I thought I must.

This week the theme is dramatic black and white. I snapped this just yesterday while playing out on the trampoline with the girls. Nothing posed, just a moment caught while playing.
Goldfish crumbs. Messy hair. Freckles. Life.
I was loving the afternoon sun that was pouring down on us. Both for pictures and because we are so longing for true spring and sunshine!!!

Go on over to I heart faces and see some other drama.

Baptism

Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your mind
and with all your strength.
Mark 12.30

Today was a special day in our family. Our oldest daughter showed an outward sign of her inward grace for God, baptism. She spoke into the microphone her name and "I am getting baptized because I want to be a friend of God forever!" It was incredibly sweet. To say I was proud would be a slight understatement.

She is growing up so quickly...

A quick pic before we left for church. It was chilly out this morning, not so thrilled to stop for a pic. Typical.
The group of children getting baptized, praying.
Her turn.

Baptized.

and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also-
not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God.
It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 3.21

Townsend family - {Lawrence, Kansas family photographer}

Last weekend some of our good friends made the trek from Kansas City to Lawrence so we could take a stab at some family pictures. I am a sucker for color and when I accidently drove past this site a few weeks ago it was begging for me to come take pictures. Lucky for me these guys were coming and it fits them well. Really, really well. Amy anyway. Recycle Queen. Only one of many things she does to make a positive impact here on this earth. I could go on and on.

My husband and Amy grew up together out in SW Kansas. We adore their family and the kids ALWAYS enjoy getting to hang together, so it was an added bonus that they were able to stay for dinner and hang for most of the night. Good thing Derek can cook.

Thanks so much for coming over! We enjoyed it as usual and I think we might have even got some keepers for your walls! Can we say cute kids?

Just for a little fun. Nice eye for seeing this spot Ty!

Weston 6 months! {Lawrence, KS infant photographer}

Boy oh boy, my cute little nephew Weston is already 6 months old! Oh how I love this age. It is especially great for taking pictures. He can sit up but is not yet mobile. Just sits there and takes it. That won't last long! No doubt the next time I will be chasing him around and just hoping for some eye contact. I had taken some pictures of him at 3 months, remember here? They change so fast I am glad we are able to capture him along the way!

He is a such a little man here...CUTE!

Had to get some naky pictures while it is still acceptable.

LHS Pom- {Lawrence, Kansas photographer}

Last Friday night I went back in time...to high school. Not totally though as I am not a Lawrence high school alum but just being in a high school gym makes me nostalgic. It was the LHS vs. Free State (other high school in town) game so there was a lot of hype! The noise of pre-game was loud and the crowd was pumped! While most of these kids know each other from Jr High or just from around town, no doubt on that night they would separate and show their loyalties.

I was there to try and get some pictures of one of the girls on the Pom team (or is it a squad, what do I know?) She and her younger sister are some of our loyal babysitters and my girls love them dearly. These girls are not only absolutely adorable and talented they are just good girls. I often tell their mom I will be seeking advice from her soon...three girls in my house!

Sadly, I didn't stay the whole game, left after half-time, and the Chesty Lions did not come out victorious....this year.

Jamming to "Kids in America" pre-game

Their half-time hip-hop number was awesome!

I ♥ faces OUTTAKES

Hopefully this can bring a little laughter to your Monday. This week on I ♥ faces they are focusing on out-takes. I have a few of those! Let's just start by saying siblings!!!

These two are mine and I actually love this picture. A fun dandelion blowing gone bad...
Emme still gets mad when we laugh at this picture.
"It doesn't taste good!"
Big brother taking the opportunity to pull his sisters hair while his parents are otherwise not able to pay attention to him...
sister's retaliation

Big brothers just can't resist!

I have no doubt if I dug around I would be able to find even more, but this will do!
Enjoy, and go over to I heart faces to get some more laughs! (click below)
